SO THE POWER WENT OUT
YIKES!
Power outages are way to common these days and something that we all must consider and prepare for. Unfortunately it has forced it's way into our lives and from time to time must be reckoned with. Following is a few items that you might find helpful in a power outage situation.
SUGGESTIONS:
1. Power Outages and Emergency Lighting:
battery operated string lights, long burning candles,
led lanterns & oil lamps.
2. Cooking Without Power:
no power needed - thermal cooker,
butane or propane camp stove & barbecue grill
3. Staying Warm During a Power Outage :
thermal clothing, cotton socks, hand / body warmers,
Big Buddy (in door) propane heater & self heating blanket
4. Staying Cool During a Power Outage:
10 inch battery operated fan
5. Temporary Fix When Refrigerator Malfunctions:
long lasting thermal 3-4 day cooler (ice must be used)
Tip: Refrigerator / Freezer is not the only way to preserve food. As a matter of fact in some cases it can be the most insecure in reference to power outages. Preserve foods in more than one way. Home canned, dehydrated foods and store brought can goods will give you a second layer of food protection. Allowing for an excellent shelf life for food preservation. No refrigeration / freezer required.
I hope that you find these power outage suggestions helpful.
Stay safe,
